The GUIBuilder Interface (Superseded)

GUIBuilder has been superseded by the AppBuilder module in the BASIS IDE for BBj. Includes support for both the READRECORD Event Queue and PROCESS_EVENTS/CALLBACK paradigm. Integrates tightly with FormBuilder, the BBj replacement for ResBuilder.

Description

The GUIBuilder interface consists of the menu bar, toolbar, drop-down lists, and edit area.

The GUIBuilder main window

Menu Bar

The menu bar occupies the upper boundary of the interface and is used to invoke most GUIBuilder commands. For a description of every menu item, see GUIBuilder Menus.

Toolbar

The toolbar provides shortcuts for performing commonly-used commands. For a description of each button, see Toolbar.

Drop-down Lists

The Object, Window, Control, and Event drop-down lists provide the capability to access and edit code blocks. See Drop-down Lists.

Edit Area

The edit window displays the code block selected through the drop-down lists. This is where you create event handlers and other code. See Getting Started in GUIBuilder.
