The 'GS' mnemonic modifies the meaning of the normal text characters in the range '0'..':'. These characters display as follows:

By printing the graphics characters shown using the 'GS' mnemonic, PRO/5 is capable of refreshing the display correctly. Printing characters other than those in the '0'..':' range may cause the terminal to display other characters. The characters displayed are not under the control of PRO/5 and may differ between terminal makers and terminal models. If the character definitions cannot be found on the system and have no other defaults, the characters in the 'default' column will be displayed instead of the proper graphics characters.
The 'GE' mnemonic ends the graphics mode.
