Sales Order Processing - Price Quote Inquiry

Function

Use this task for a quick method of determining price quotations for customers. Pricing tables are based on information entered in the Pricing Table Maintenance task. If contract pricing for the item is available to the customer, that can be displayed as well. Price Quote Inquiry features appear in two tabs; Pricing Table and Contract Pricing.

About the Fields

The screen is divided into three sections. The upper section contains information about the customer. The middle section contains information regarding combinations of price code, warehouse, and item. The lower section displays the price table after entering an existing customer/price code, warehouse, and item combination.

There are two fields providing access to the pricing tables. Price tables accessed from the Customer field show quotes previously extended to an individual customer. From the Price Code field a quote from existing price tables may be determined.

In the Customer ID field...

Enter a valid customer number.
Click to select from a list of valid customer numbers.

When selecting an existing customer the address information for that customer is displayed.

In the Contact Name field...

Display only. Shows the name of the contact person for the company.

In the Phone Number field...

Display only. Shows the phone number of the contact person.

In the Fax Number field...

Display only. Shows the fax number of the contact person.

In the Customer Pricing Code field...

A code may display if defined for this customer.

Enter a valid price code.
Click to select from a list of price codes.

In the Warehouse ID field...

Enter a valid warehouse ID.
Click to review the master record for this selection.
Click to select from a list of warehouses

In the Inventory Item ID field...

Enter a valid item number.
Click to review the master record for this selection.
Click to select from a list of item numbers.

In the Item Class field...

Display only. Shows the item class for the inventory item displayed.

In the Current Price field...

Display only. Shows the list price of the item.

In the Quantity On-Hand field...

Display only. Shows the quantity on-hand.

In the Quantity Committed field...

Display only. Shows the quantity on-hand.

In the Quantity Available field...

Display only. Shows the available quantity (on-hand – quantity committed).

When selecting an existing price table combination of price code, warehouse, and item, the existing price table is displayed. There can be up to 10 price breaks available on a pricing table.

In the Quantity fields...

Display only. Shows the amount of the item required for the price break.

In the Percent fields...

Display only. Shows what percentage price break is given for the quantity. Percentages are cleared when the Pricing Basis is Amount.

In the Amount fields...

Display only. Shows the price break amount for the quantity. Amounts are cleared when the Pricing Basis is Percentage.

In the Price fields...

Display only. Shows the new price per item when using the price break.

In the Pricing Method field...

Display only. Shows the Customer Pricing Code and Pricing Method used to calculate the new price per item.

In the Pricing Basis field...

Display only. Shows whether Percentage or Amount was used to calculate the new price per item.

The Item Availability button...

Selecting the button launches the Item/Price Availability form detailing inventory levels across all warehouses.

Item/Price Availability

The Item/Price Availability form includes convenient hyperlinks to the Warehouses, On-Hand, Committed, On-Order, and Alt/Sup Item.

Contract Pricing Tab (back to top)

When contract pricing is defined for the selected customer the pricing is viewable by selecting the Contract Pricing tab. Contract pricing and notes are defined in the Contract Pricing Maintenance task.

The Contract Pricing tab displays quantity and pricing information as entered into the Contract Pricing task found in the Sales Order Processing Maintenance task.

When done making selections...

Select the [Run Process] button to save changes to the form and close it.
Click to clear the form.
