BBj TermConsole

Description

The BBj TermConsole is a character-based user interface available for dumb terminals or terminal emulators. It relies on termcap and functions like PRO/5. A "console" interface gives users the ability to type commands at a ready prompt, edit and list BBj program source code, and display the output of character-based programs. The following image shows the BBj TermConsole as it appears on a dumb terminal display or inside a terminal emulator window on a graphics-enabled computer:

The functionality of the TermConsole depends to a large degree on the type of terminal it is run on, or the type of terminal being emulated by the terminal emulator. Unlike the BBj SysConsole/SysWindow, the TermConsole has no menus for changing fonts or colors. Colors, fonts, sizes, and operations such as cutting, pasting and printing are all dependant on the terminal's or terminal emulator's capabilities.
