Saving a File

All files created or modified in ResBuilder can be saved in either a binary resource file format (.brc) or an ASCII resource file format (.arc). To save a resource file, do the following:

  1. To save a file, do one of the following:

    • On the File menu, select Save.

    • Press Ctrl+S.

  2. The first time you save a file, ResBuilder will display the Save As dialog and you can select either ASCII or binary file format. On the first save of a file, ResBuilder will default to binary file format unless the user selects ASCII. Move to the directory into which you want to save the file, enter the filename into the File name box and click OK. If you have already named and saved the file, no dialog appears. ResBuilder resaves the file with the same filename and path.

Saving a File Under a New Name

To save a file under a new name, do the following:

  1. On the File menu, select Save As to display the Save As dialog.

  2. Select either ASCII (.arc) or binary (.brc) file format.

  3. Move to the directory into which you want to save the file.

  4. Enter the new filename into the File Name box and click OK.
