DDBuilder has been superseded by the BASIS DBMS Data Dictionary module accessible from the BASIS IDE or the Enterprise Manager. Recommended for usage with ODBC/JDBC access to PRO/5, Visual PRO/5, BBj application data. DDBuilder is no longer included in the BBj download package as of version 12.0 but can be downloaded with Visual PRO/5.

To define the rules that apply to the data dictionary, do the following:

  1. In the tree view, double-click the Rules icon to display the available rules.

  2. Click the desired rule to display the General Rules properties page.

  3. Enter data into the appropriate fields (each field is described under Fields).

Fields

Description

Enter a rule description. The maximum length is 40 characters.

Process

Provide either a TAOS process control logical expression or a CALLed external TAOS process control program that enforces the rule. (The maximum length is 128 characters.) The process code can be an external CALL, a TAOS process control merge file, or one or more TAOS process control statements.

Error Message

Define the error message text that appears if user activity causes the rule to generate a false or zero result.

Error Procedure

Provide the routine to be executed if the rule process generates a false or zero result. (The maximum length is 128 characters.) The error procedure can be an external CALL, a TAOS process control merge file, or one or more TAOS process control statements.

Success Procedure

Provide the routine to be executed if the rule generates a true or non-zero result. (The maximum length is 128 characters.) The success procedure can be an external CALL, a TAOS process control merge file, or one or more TAOS process control statements.
