Copying Data Dictionary Elements to the Clipboard

To copy a table, column, index segment, typedef, rule, or view to the Windows clipboard, do the following:

1. In the tree view, click the element to be copied.

2. Do one of the following to copy the element:

   • On the Edit menu, select Copy.

   • Right-click to display the context-sensitive menu, and select Copy.

   • On the toolbar, click the Copy button:

Elements can be pasted from the clipboard to other data dictionaries, which is a way to create an element in one data dictionary for use by other data dictionaries.
