Setting Advisory Locking for the Data Server - Windows NT

To enable advisory locking, set the advisory locking SETOPTS bit (byte 3 bit 40) and add the following line to the Data Server config.bbx file:

ADVISORY_LOCKS

Using Windows NT Data Server with Advisory Locking enabled and simultaneously accessing the same files directly without using the Data Server, either locally or through a mapped drive from Visual PRO/5 or the BASIS ODBC Driver, is not supported and should not be attempted. Doing so can result in file corruption.
