config1.pngSetting PREFIX and Global String Options

The Prefix/Globals configuration page provides a form for entering both PREFIX paths and global string assignments.

PREFIX

The PREFIX is a list of directories and is used by Visual PRO/5 to initialize the file search sequence.

The total prefix length cannot exceed 1024 bytes. When a new directory is added, it is placed at the end of the prefix list. To add a directory to the PREFIX list, do the following:

  1. Click Add.

  2. Type in the directory.

Note: Use forward slashes (/) only and include the disk designator. Do not include embedded spaces in the path, and be sure to include a trailing forward slash.

To remove a directory from the PREFIX list, do the following:

  1. Select the directory to remove.

  2. Click Remove.

GLOBAL

The Global strings group is used for setting global string values in the Visual PRO/5 configuration file.

To add a global string value, do the following:

  1. Click Add.

  2. Type in the global string name in the first column of the grid.

  3. Type in the global string value in the second column of the grid.

To remove a global string value, do the following:

  1. Select the global string to remove.

  2. Click Remove.
