Shop Floor Control - Cost Summary

The Cost Summary option displays the accumulated costs of transactions against a work order , broken down by the operation code, material issued, and subcontracts. Totals, variance amounts, and variance percentages are shown. This display is unaffected by partial or complete closing of the work order.

The Cost Summary report is created from the Display additional options dropdown list on the Work Order Entry form.

See Output Options.

The report displays the standard and actual costs broken down by direct and overhead charges; the amount of variance between total actual (direct plus overhead) and total standard; and the percentage of variance between total actual and total standard. Totals showing direct and overhead rate costs for all operations follow the display of labor costs by operation code. Negative variances are shown when actual costs are greater than standard costs.

The Cost Summary displays the total standard and actual cost of labor, materials, and subcontracts at standard and actual, the amount of variance between actual and standard, and the percentage of variance between actual and standard. It divides these totals by the scheduled production and shows the resulting standard, actual, variance, and variance percentage figures as “Per/Unit Total.” The Totals portion of the display shows the total accumulated cost in the work order for Labor, Materials, and Subcontracts, and the Number of Labor Hours. These figures are then divided by scheduled production to show the “Per/Unit Total” for these costs and number of hours.
