Sales Order Processing - New Customer Defaults

 

Function

When a new customer is entered in the Order Entry, Invoice Entry, and Accounts Receivable Customer Maintenance tasks, the new customer default information is displayed. This standard sales information, common to the majority of sales orders and invoices, can be overridden as desired.

About the Fields

 

To enable edits to the form select  .

 

In the Customer Type field...

  • Enter a valid sales customer type code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Salesperson Code field...

  • Enter a valid salesperson code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Terms Code field...

  • Enter a valid terms code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Freight Terms Code field...

  • Enter a valid freight terms code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Territory Code field...

  • Enter a valid territory code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Distribution Code field...

  • Enter a valid distribution code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Message Code field...

  • Enter a valid message code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Customer Pricing Code field...

  • Enter a valid customer pricing code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Sales Discount Code field...

  • Enter a valid sales discount code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Label Code field...

  • Enter a valid label code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Tax Code field...

  • Enter a valid tax code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

In the Cycle Code field...

  • Enter a valid cycle code.

  • Click Display Master Reocrd button to display details of the entered code.

  • Click Click to select from a list of valid codes.

From the Sales Analysis dropdown...

  • Select Item Level (I) to include analysis to the item level for new customers.

  • Select Product Level (P) to include analysis to the product level for new customers.

  • No Sales Analysis (N) to not include this customer in sales analysis.

In the Credit Limit field...

  • Enter credit limit as a dollar value default for new customers.

From the Credit Hold dropdown...

  • Select Yes (Y) to hold all new customers for approval.

  • Select No (N) to not hold credit for new customers.

  • Select Exempt (E)

In the Ship Via field...

  • Enter shipping carrier information as the default.

In the Free On Board (FOB) field...

  • Enter FOB location as the default.

Finance Charge? checkbox...

  • Mark the box to enable finance charges as a default.

  • Unmark the box to not enable finance charges.

Statements?checkbox...

  • Mark the box to retain full invoice detail history.

  • Unmark the box to not retain invoice history.

Retain Detail Invoice History? checkbox...

  • Mark the box to retain full invoice detail history.

  • Unmark the box to not retain invoice history.

When finished making entries to the fields...

  • Click Save button to save the record and return to Parameter Maintenance.

Closing an unsaved record will issue the prompt:

  • Select [Yes] to save the changes.

  • Select [No] to return to the New Customer Defaults form.
