Sales Order Processing - Territory Codes

Function

Use this task to create, modify, delete, and/or inquire about territory codes. These codes are the same codes used by the Sales Analysis and Accounts Receivable modules. A listing of all territory codes and their descriptions is available.

To access this task...

Select Territory Codes from the Inquiry and Maintenance menu.

About the Fields

Once established, territory codes are associated with each customer record and become part of the order and invoice heading information. If your business does not have distinct sales territories, at least one territory code still must be set up to be used by all customers.

To enable edits to the form select  edit button.

In the Territory Code field...

  • Enter a new or existing 3-character territory code.

  • Click the navigating buttons to view the territory records; first record button to view the first record, previous record button to view the previous record, next record button to view the next record, and last record button to view the last record.

  • Click record query button to select from a list of territory codes.

  • Click new/clear form button to clear the form to create a new record.

When entering an existing code, the description and associated information for the code is displayed.

In the Description field...

  • Enter up to 20 characters for a description of the territory.

Closing an unsaved record will issue the prompt:

Save changes for this record?

Save changes for this record?

  • Enter Yes to continue code description.

  • Enter No to return to the Territory Code field.

When finished making entries to the fields...

  • Click save button to save the record.

  • Click delete button to delete the record.
